In the world as we know it, Japan is one of the most developed countries in the world. Despite its development, it managed to keep the old traditions alive. Yet, the country still has a long way to go and many issues to bring to a close. For ages, Japanese woman’s place has been in home. Her duty used to be of loving wife and caring mother – the one that always stays at home. In today’s society some changes had occurred. Now, women have right to vote and work – even as politicians, if they want to. They have the right to choose their own faith. The way for Japanese women had been long and hard. They had to fight with the prejudice of a whole nation in order to get their lives in their hands. Now, these women have a choice – to marry, to work, or both. Yet, they have much more to do in order to get full social equality.
